The Witcher
Faster dice:
------------
Submitted by: RM
Hold the Right Mouse Button while playing dice. The game
will be slightly faster and easier to play when you do not
have to wait for the dice animation.
Infinite Talents:
-----------------
When you gain a level, meditate and set your talent points
as usual. After the meditation, go back to the Talents screen,
and Right-click all of the Talents you just learned. You should
hear a ringing sound, but no visual change.
You can now meditate again and have all the Talents again.
Unlimited talent distribution:
------------------------------
After you get new talents, meditate to distribute them. After you
come out of meditation, go to the Hero panel and right-click on the
enhancements you just used the talents on. You will hear the money
sound, but no visible change. You can meditate again and have those
talents back, and will still have the enhancements you had previously
used the talents on.
Note: This can only be done in unpatched versions of the game.
Infinite Skill Points:
----------------------
After meditating near a fireplace in order to allocate your skill
points, head back to your skill tree and right click on skills
currently allocated. A ringing sound should be heard. After closing
the skill tree, go to the fireplace and meditate again. The skill
will be allocated from the previous spent point(s), but the point(s)
will also be ready to be spent again! This gives you infinite skill
points to spend at your leisure, but remember -- if this isn't done
quickly, the points won't be given back to you to spend a second time
(or more).
Defeating Beast:
----------------
Note: This can be done as of patch v1.2. There is a small crevice between
the fence and a small hut to the top left corner of the field. Use this
to regenerate health or use potions. Neither the dogs nor Beast will be
able to get to you as long as you stay in this opening. Do not worry
about the villagers or Abigail, as the dogs will not attack them. If you
have upgraded Ard Sign for STUN, it makes the fight a lot easier. Aim for
Beast and cast your Sign. If he is stunned, simply do an auto-attack and
you will trigger a one-hit kill.
Monsters and Blade Oil:
-----------------------
To make oils, you must first have the ability (in the Intelligence talent
tree). Secondly, you must have high quality Grease (fat) in your inventory
as well as the other ingredients.
For oils with 3 or 4 ingredients, you can use Goose Fat or Suet.
Those containing 5 ingredients will need Bear Fat, Dog Fat or Alchemical
Paste.
Certain monsters are grouped by type and can be injured more if your blade
is coated with a special oil.
Necrophages include these corpse eaters: Ghoul, Alghoul, Graveir, Devourer
and Cemetaur.
Necrophage Oil ingredients (3): 1 part aether, 2 parts vitriol
Ornithosaurs are reptilian: Basilisk, Cockatrice, Wyvern and Royal Wyvern.
Ornithosaur Oil ingredients (4): 1 part each - hydragenum, quebirth, rebis, vitriol
Insectoids are insect-like: Giant Centipede, and Kikimore (queen, warrior, worker).
Insectoid Oil ingredients (4): 1 part each - aether, quebirth, rebis, vermilion
Specters include ghosts and the like: Barghest, Ifrit, Midday Bride, Noonwraith,
Nightwraith, Wraith, and the Wild Hunt.
Specter Oil ingredients (3): 1 part each - aether, rebis, vitriol
Vampires include blood-sucking monsters: Alp, Bruxa, Ekimma, Fleder, Garkain,
Katakan, Mula, Nosferat and Vampire.
Vampire Oil ingredients (5): 2 parts quebirth, and 1 part each of hydragenum,
vermilion and vitriol
Note: Other monsters may be added in later game versions or expansions.
Other Oils:
-----------
Argentia increases effectiveness of Silver swords but weakens steel swords
Ingredients (5): 2 parts hydragenum, 2 parts quebirth and 1 part rebis
Brown Oil accelerates bleeding in enemies with a circulatory system
Ingredients (4): 1 part each of aether, quebirth, rebis and vermilion
Hanged Man's Venom poisons human-like wounded enemies
Ingredients (5): 1 part each: aether, hydragenum, rebis, vermilion and vitrol
Unlimited Skill Points:
-----------------------
Note: This only works on the unpatched version of the game; I did it on the UK
version. As of Patch 1.2, this doesn't work; it was probably just a bug.
When you're leveling your character, allocate your skill points as usual, but
remember the skills you chose. Meditate, and immediately afterwards, go to the
character screen and view your skills. Right click on all of the skills you had
chosen during the leveling process. You should hear a ring/chime every time you
do this, as if you were canceling a skill. Meditate again and you should have
the skill points you spent before. You can reallocate and repeat the process.
